Most of you will likely be surprised to learn that the Lada Niva still exists. We certainly had no idea that it was still being made…
A Russian manufacturer called AvtoVAZ has made some minor modifications to this 37-year-old car and it will be on sale soon after it makes its public debut at the Moscow Motor Show in August.
Upgrades include a new front bumper, radiator grille, hubcaps, electric windows and air conditioning.
It’s powered by a 1,7-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with 60kW on tap. This means the sprint to 100km/h takes 22 seconds, while top speed is claimed to be 137km/h.
It’s still very much a bare bones 4×4, but AvtoVAZ says that an all new model will come along in 2016.
