The all-new Land Rover Discovery will make its first public appearance at the 2017 Absa Cape Epic. Spectators who attend the Absa Cape Epic Prologue at Meerendal Wine Estate on 19 March will be first to get an exclusive look at the latest Discovery, ahead of its local launch in July this year.
Attendees will have another chance to get up close and personal with the newest Land Rover at the Grand Finale on 26 March, at the award-winning Val de Vie estate.
Some of the features of the new Discovery is that it is 480kg lighter than its predecessor, has improved ground clearance (up 43mm) and a maximum water wading depth of 900mm (up 200mm from before).
It’s also fitted with Land Rover’s Terrain Response 2 system and among other things, has seats that can be adjusted remotely (watch Bear Grylls adjust them while skydiving).
The price of a 3.0-litre Td6 diesel, which will deliver 190kW of power and 600Nm of torque will begin at R980 000, while the petrol 3.0-litre supercharged V6 Si6 that delivers 250kW and 450Nm will start from R1 018 500.
