The all-new Pajero Sport will go on sale in South Africa in September 2017, according to Mitsubishi Motors South Africa (MMSA).
The engine line-up of the new Pajero Sport is yet to be confirmed , but it will include the a ‘new-generation aluminium cylinder block turbo-diesel engine’, mated to the all-new refined eight-speed automatic gearbox , which will be standard across the range – including transfer gearing with low range for the four-wheel drive derivative featuring the latest edition of Mitsubishi’s ‘Super-Select II-4 4WD-system’.
The new Pajero Sport will also feature an upgraded suspension and the line-up offered in South Africa will consist of high-spec 4×2 and 4×4 derivatives.
The exterior front-end design is bold, while Mitsubishi says that the inside the of the cabin of the Pajero Sport is will be imbued with ‘high quality soft-touch materials creating an extremely refined environment similar to that of a luxury passenger car.’
The vehicle also boasts a host of safety features and systems that have earned it a five-star safety rating by the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP).
According to Nic Campbell, general manager at Mitsubishi Motors SA, “Current Pajero Sport owners, loyal to their vehicles’ never-die, go-everywhere attitude, will be pleased to know that the all-new Pajero Sport will be just as rugged and capable, while the new model simply builds on its sterling reputation by adding a decent helping of power, style, luxury and safety.”

Pricing ( which the automaker states will be ‘competitive’) and specification details will be released in September at the Pajero Sport’s launch.
