Bentley has revealed the Bentagya Diesel, the ‘fastest diesel SUV in the world’ with a top speed of 270km/h.
Fitted with the Audi SQ7’s triple-charged 4.0-liter V8 diesel mill that exploits a pair of twin-scroll turbochargers and a 48v electric supercharger, the Bentayga produces the same 319kW and 900Nm of torque. It gains 20km/h on the Audi though, as the German machine has been limited to a top speed of 250kph. In the Bentayga, the V8 engine is mated to a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission driving all four-wheels
The diesel SUV – that is not as fast as the petrol version, which is available in South Africa – won’t be on show at the Paris Motor Show, but will go on sale across Europe before the end of 2016.
