BMW prepping new small crossover?

by Leisure Wheels

3 November 2014

Worldcarfans is reporting that BMW is planning a new small crossover vehicle that will slot in below the current X1.

The vehicle will apparently be called the 1 Series Sport Cross and will be positioned below the X1 – the company’s current smallest SUV.

The second-generation X1 will come out in 2016, and the Sport Cross will be a cheaper alternative to it. However, the Cross will be based on the all-new 1 Series, which will apparently be released in 2018. So we probably won’t see the Sport Cross on showroom floors until sometime in 2019.

The Sport Cross will ride on BMW’s upcoming UKL FWD platform.

The Pictured image is a prototype of the upcoming new X1.
