The all-new BMW X1 has been spied during routine cold weather tests.
Unfortunately, it’s heavily disguised by camouflage, so there’s no point speculating about the styling. We suspect it might be a bit more sedate and more in-line with BMW’s current design language than the model it’ll replace.
It seems to have grown in every direction, which means it’ll be closer in size to the original X3.
At this point not much else is known about the X1, but it would make sense for BMW to use on of its global platforms. Perhaps the FWD platform from the recently revealed 2 Series Active Tourer? BMW could then make AWD an optional extra for those countries who actually need it.
It would be a practical solution, considering the fact that the average X1 rarely takes his/her off the beaten path.
