Citroën has revealed its Aircross Concept, which will be on show at the upcoming Shanghai Auto Show.
As you can see, there are definite similarities with the C4 Cactus, but this Citroën Aircross Concept model is much bigger than the Cactus. It is 4580mm long, 2100mm wide and 1800mm tall. It is similar in size, in fact, to the Hyundai Santa or new Discovery Sport.
According to Citroën, “Aircross illustrates the brand’s international ambitions, rolling out its positioning initiated with the C4 Cactus with a body style intended for sale around the world. Aircross shakes up design cues while respecting SUV essentials. Drawing on the product and styling traits of the C4 Cactus, the body design and cabin ambience express a sense of modernity and a singular spirit. The new concept car shows Citroën’s ability to assert its identity in all vehicle segments.”
Okay, then. So we can assume that this concept is heading for production. It does look just about production-ready, though those 22-inch rims and futuristic cabin would need to go. The concept also boasts a hybrid engine set-up, though we’ll have to wait and see if the production model will also be available as a hybrid.
