With an ever-increasing role in the world auto market, carmakers like Citroen are well placed to keep their biggest reveal for the Shanghai Motor Show.
Citroen DSX
Kicking off next week, the French motor company has released images and a video ahead of the reveal of the DS Spirit Wild Rubis. Said to have the wheelbase of an X5 and height and width of an X3, the Rubis enters a fiercy competitive market at a very high end. The Rubis is rumoured to be sold under the “DSX” nameplate once in production.
The Wild Rubis is reportedly 1950mm wide, 4700mm long and 1590mm high. The wheelbase, however, is a wide 2900mm of that length. From the start it is set to be sold as a hybrid model with one of the PSA engines driving the front wheels and an electric motor driving the rear.
With the company’s new focus on the premium market, the vehicle has already been compared to Porsche’s best selling Cayenne. It’s built on the DS5’s platform, is a five-door family vehicle with a flair to match their new target market.
The Shanghai Auto Show kicks off April 21st.
