Mapstudio has come together with Life2Day to offer a new African website for travelers looking for digital maps to travel the continent.
Digital maps are a great way to plan an overlanding trip, and with up-to-date navigation routes, finger swiping and zoom capabilities, these are good examples of how digital can help travelers. And, for each eProduct downloaded, a percentage of the money goes to conservation and ecotourism projects with the Endangered Wildlife Trust.
There’s also quite a bit of free content on the site, such as trail running and mountain bike trail maps for South Africa, as well as maps of African cities. You can download a range of sounds, from various birds to the big five and smaller animals, for a small fee.
Maps include 4×4 route maps to places like Botswana and Mozambique, a map of the Richtersveld and Fish River Canyon, as well as pocket maps for southern African cities.
