Ferrari have scooped up four awards at the Engine of the Year awards and for the first time in many years a performance engine has won the title as Engine of the Year.
Ferrari’s 3.9-litre, twin-turbocharged V8 unit took top honours and also won the Performance Engine, New Engine, and 3.0-litre to 4.0-litre category too.
When it comes to smaller engines PSA Peugeot Citroen 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo took the fourth place overall and won the 1-Litre to 1.4-Litre category. This is the same engine that powers the C4 Cactus which we’ve tested and features in our June 2016 magazine in a shootout with the Suzuki Vitara.
In the 3-litre to 4-litre category the Mercedes-AMG 4-litre biturbo V8 that’s found in the Mercedes-Benz G500, took second place.
