The much-anticipated crossover version of Fiat’s popular 500, the 500X, has been displayed at the Los Angeles International Auto Show.
Int he US, the 500X will only be available with a choice of two petrol engines – a 1.4-liter MultiAir Turbo that produces 119 kW and 249 Nm of torque, and a 2.4-liter Tigershark MultiAir2 that generates 134 kW and 237 Nm of torque.
The basic models are very well, basic, but still include air conditioning, body-color trim and a four-speaker sound system. Higher-spec models boast heated seats, leather upholstery, an upmarket audio system and a Uconnect infotainment system.
The international launch of the 500X is taking place right now, and we can probably expect to see the little crossover in SA sometime towards the middle of 2015.
