The latest addition to the Panda family, is the new two-wheel-drive Fiat Panda City Cross, not to be confused with the Panda Cross 4×4.
The City Cross is exactly as it sounds, a Panda with urban crossover looks but really a city car. The front-wheels are powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine that puts out 51kW and102Nm.
The City Cross is based on the style of the Panda Cross 4×4, which will launch in South Africa in August. The Panda City Cross is currently available in Britain, but there’s no word yet on whether it will follow its big brother here.
The City Cross comes with colour-coded front and rear bumper inserts and side mouldings (the cute little skid plate that is standard on the Cross 4×4 is available as an optional extra), contrasting black door mirror caps, roof bars and door handles. It rides on the same 15-inch alloy wheels as the Panda Cross.
Inside, the Panda City Cross features a grey dashboard with matt black instrument panel inserts and black and grey fabric seats with black eco-leather side inserts.
The City Cross comes with a choice of two body colours: Minimal Grey and Electronica Blue, the latter available exclusively on this car.
An optional ‘style’ pack can also be specified to customise the car further. This includes ultrashine roofbars, side mouldings and skid plate as well as body coloured door mirrors and front red hooks, to bring it in line with the Panda Cross. Inside, the City Cross style pack includes an upgraded copper dashboard and panels and seat upholstery to match its four-wheel-drive sibling.
