“Even though the vehicle was 41 years old, we wanted to bring a modern flavor to the Bronco, but also wanted to make sure it was still raw, aggressve, and purpose-built for the off-road,” said Kenny Pftizer from Zero to 60 Designs, with reference to the 1975 Ford that they modified to fit a customer’s unusual request.
The customer’s favourite car was a 1969 Shelby Cobra GT 500 and so Pftizer said that as he has never seen a modern take on ‘Eleanor’ (“Eleanor” is a customized 1971 Ford Mustang Sportsroof made famouns in the movie Gone in 60 Seconds) he was up to the challenge of reincarnated it as a Ford Bronco. The result has been dubbed, “Eleanor’s Big Brother.”
Modifications include a lift kit, bodywork in a scratch-resistant durable spray that is color-matched to the original 1969 GT 500, new tubular doors, a new bonnet and aluminum trim pieces.
The engine was converted from carburetors to fuel injection, a new sound system was added as well as digital instruments, 37-inch Mickey Thompson off-road tyres on new wheels and RaceQuip five-point harnesses for each passenger.
