Ford US is planning on including the “Sport” mode, as used in the all-new Mustang’s six-speed automatic transmission, in the gearbox of the F-150 as well.
It may seem silly, but there is some method to this madness. In sport mode the gearbox holds onto the lower gears for longer, which makes towing things a lot easier.
If that’s still not enough for you, you’ll have to wait for the all-new Raptor, which goes on sale in 2016. It will have a 3,5-litre EcoBoost engine with 306kW and 587Nm on tap.
