Ford unveils all-new F-150

Ford USA recently unveiled the newest version of its best-selling bakkie, the F-150.

The sad news is that the press release doesn’t mention whether right-hand drive versions will be made, so if you really want one, you’ll still have to go with the importing and conversion route.

As you can see, the F-150 makes a bold statement upfront. There are a grand total of 11 grille options you can choose from, so you can make your F-150 as aggressive as you want.

On the inside, the new F-150 features a number of gadgets and luxuries. Everything you could possibly want is present. The size of the infotainment interface varies between the various specifications.

But enough about that. You’re most likely here to read about the power.

There are a few options, but nothing on the next-generation Raptor so far. The big news is a petrol V6 hybrid powertrain. There’s also a naturally-aspirated 3.3-litre V6, a 2.7-litre EcoBoost V6, a 5.0-litre naturally-aspirated V8 and a 3.0-litre V6 diesel.

Ford did not supply the power output of these engines, but we expect to find out more once this bakkie is officially launched to the public.
