Gearing up for the Joburg Int Motor Show

The Johannesburg Motor Show kicks off on 18 October 2013 for the public, and manufacturers are slowly but surely releasing information about what show-goers can expect on their stands.

Infiniti FX Vettel

Along with existing models, Infiniti is bringing their FX Vettel version to the show, as well as revealing a new product. The FX Vettel was apparently “modified” by F1 drive Sebastian Vettel himself, and Infiniti South Africa’s GM, George Stegmann, assures that it’s not just Vettel’s name on the badge, but “a really special car”. International Infiniti figures will also be at the stand.

Renault Duster & Detour

If you haven’t had the opportunity to view the new Renault Duster, make use of the show to get up close and personal with the new budget off-roader. A special edition will also be available – the Renault Duster Detour – described by the company as Mad Max meets Terminator meets the Dakar dirt. The Detour concept is a collaboration between Renault Design Central Europe and a South African design studio based in Johannesburg.

“We’ve had an enormous amount of fun in integrating the key design equipment and eye-catching elements that have gone in to making up the Renault Duster Détour” says Geoffrey Gardiner, Director at Renault Design Central Europe.
