The 2013 Geneva Auto is the stage that Japanese manufacturer Suzuki has chosen to unveil the production version of its all new SX4 Crossover. While the new model is aimed at being a successor to the outgoing SX4, the new model is bigger and is likely to compete in the larger C segment.
The new SX4 receives two engines in the model lineup, a lightened version of the 1, 6-litre petrol engine that does duty in the Swift Sport replaces the old 2-litre unit. The petrol unit will be available with either a five-speed manual or CVT transmission while the 1, 6-litre diesel will not be available locally.
In terms of styling,the new SX4 looks like an upscaled version of the current model with a more muscular look and will feature modern niceties such as LED daytime running lamps. The vehicle is longer than the one it replaces(4, 300mm long) with a wheelbase of 2, 600mm it allows for 430 litres of luggage space as well as more space for the occupants.
The SX4 is set to reach our shores in the first quarter of 2014.
