If you’re worried that the next-generation Defender will be too soft, rest easy. It seems as if a hardcore off-road derivative of the vehicle is being prepared.
Autocar is reporting that Land Rover’s new Defender will be offered in an off-road derivative called the SVX.
Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) Managing Director John Edwards has stated that the division intends to create more off-road oriented versions of Land Rover’s products, and it seems as if the new Defender will be a priority.
Sadly, though, it seems as if we’ll have to wait a while for the Defender SVX. The standard version will probably arrive sometime in 2016, and the SVX will make its appearance 12 – 18 months after that.
