Haval Motors South Africa launched the Haval H2 in our market a few months ago and we were suitablyy impressed with the Chinese SUV.
When we tested it on a road trip we found the build quality to be good and inside even the small things, like the sunglasses holder and the buttons for the electric windows, have a satisfying solidity to them.
More importantly though are the safety features and the Australian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) has awarded the Haval H2 with a five-star safety rating for derivatives with dual frontal, side and curtain airbags.
Of the six variants available in South Africa, the two entry-level City derivatives (manual and automatic) are excluded, as they come without side or curtain airbags, but do get front dual SRS airbags and ABS.
The Luxury and Premium trim models are all fitted with multiple airbags and all besides the Premium manual version come with an electronic stability program (ESP).
