Our editor Jannie Herbst is at the massive SEMA show in the US at the moment, and has sent us some info about the vehicle that has been crowned the “hottest 4×4 SUV” of the show. Somewhat unsurprisingly, it is a Jeep, the most American of 4×4 brands. Officially, it is called the Jeep Wrangler Mopar Recon, and sports a 6,4-litre Hemi engine. It also has a Rock-Trac transfer case, and a 4,5-inch lift kit. It rides on massive 39-inch tyres.
Both the exterior and interior is absolutely covered in Mopar kit. The outside boasts door kits, replacement bumpers, a Warn winch, a tyre carrier, hi-clearance flat fenders, rock sliders and corner guards. The interior has a custom-created interior, all-weather slush mats, a special storage box under the floor, a CB radio and a comprehensive recovery kit.
Does it deserve to be called the hottest 4×4 of the show. Well, it certainly is eye-catching. And there’s little doubt that it will be amazing off road.
