The new Hyundai Creta light front-wheel-drive crossover has been launched in South Africa and sits just below the Tucson range.
The first two models in the three-model line up are fitted with a 1.6-litre petrol engine that delivers 90kW and 150Nm of torque. The entry level models comes with a six-speed manual gearbox as standard and is priced at R319 900 or for an extra R20 000 you can have the crossover in the middle of the range, which is mated with a six-speed automatic transmission.
The flagship Creta is furnished with a 1.6-litre turbodiesel that provides 94kW and 260Nm of torque and is mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox.
Features include an infotainment system with navigation, bluetooth and USB and also keyless entry, rear park assist. Safety features include six airbags and ABS with EBD.
The Creta has a ground clearance of 190 cm and is positioned to compete against the likes of the Mazda CX-3, Nissan Juke, Mitsubishi ASX.
