A lightly disguised BMW X4 has been photographed a few times over the last few days.
BMW has stated that it isn’t planning an M variant of its latest SUV, but it may be working on the next best thing.
The German manufacturer may be working on a X4 M40i, which should slot in nicely above the current top-of-the-range X4 35i.
It’ll likely use BMW’s famous 3,0-litre turbocharged in-line six-cylinder with as much as 280kW at its disposal.
No official release date has been set, but we expect it to be launched at the Frankfurt Show next year.
