The last time Lamborghini built and SUV, it didn’t go so well. The infamous LM002 was too large, difficult to drive and it used more fuel than a container ship traveling at 20 knots.
It’s strange then that Lamborghini is intent on launching another SUV, but since everyone else is doing it, the famous Italian supercar manufacturer can’t really afford not to.
The Urus, as is will be known, will probably be based on an Audi platform and two engines will be available. We expect one of them will be a all-out beast with supercar-like performance, while the other will likely feature a diesel, or heaven forbid, hybrid powertrain.
The styling, however, has been left to the Italians and they’ve done a marvelous, if a bit over-the-top job of it.
Lambo’s production Urus will be made available to the public sometime during 2017.
