The Fusion Motor Company based in Los Angeles has unveiled its new LS3 Corvette powertrain package for the iconic Land Rover Defender.
The package, which was installed on a 1991 Santorini Black Defender 110, includes a new 6.2-liter LS3 V8 engine from General Motors, (the same one used in the Corvette Stingray) that produces 320 kW, that’s 90 kW more than the Defender’s previous 3.9-liter powerplant. The company has also installed a six-speed automatic transmission sourced from GM and adapted it to mate with the Defender’s original transfer case, however, customers can also order an aftermarket Atlas transfer case and custom heavy-duty axles.
In addition to the upgraded powertrain, this particular Defender was fitted with 18-inch gloss black alloy wheels, wrapped in Nitto Ridge Grappler all-terrain tyres. The SUV also has LED headlights, a new grille, front bumper and side steps.
Fusion also gave the interior a modern makeover with two-tone leather upholstery and piano black accents. A leather-wrapped steering wheel, new carpeting, a suede headliner and a seven-inch Pioneer infotainment system with Apple CarPlay compatibility where all added to complete the interior modernization..
