A few years ago Tata Motors bought Jaguar Land Rover, which turned out to be just what the British manufacturer needed.
With the backing of Tata, the brand went from strength to strength.
The two brands have been kept apart, so far, but it seems that Land Rover will soon be sharing its expertise with Tata, so it can start producing SUVs.
It seems Tata has approved a project that’ll see the two brands working together to create two SUVs.
These two SUVs will likely be five and seven seat vehicles, which Tata hopes will sell well outside of India, where they already own a large chunk of the market share.
A tie-in with the Land Rover brand would definitely work in Tata’s favour, as it immediately elevates the Indian brand’s reputation to another level as far as the consumer is concerned.
We’ll have to wait a few years to see the results, however, but we’re willing to bet that they’ll be very good indeed.
