Mazda makes small changes to CX-5

by Leisure Wheels

17 February 2014

To keep as fresh and as up to date as possible, Mazda has made a few minor modifications to its CX-5 SUV.

As you can see on the picture, Mazda made no changes to the exterior of the vehicle. There are, however, two new exterior colours on offer.

Most of the changes have been made on the mechanical side. Every model is equipped with revised suspension featuring re-tuned dampers, bushes and stabilisers which Mazda claims improves driving dynamics by delivering increased ride comfort and reduced noise, vibration and harshness.

Manual transmission Mazda CX-5 models are now fitted with a new clutch restart system that allows engine restart by depressing the clutch (within three seconds of stalling), without the need to use the engine start/stop button. Automatic transmission models now have a straight-shift gate, as fitted to the all-new Mazda3.

We have yet to receive word on when the updated model will be made available to South Africa.
