Nissan unveiled the next-generation Pathfinder recently. Now, while this was officially just a concept, it did give us a very good idea of what the current Pathfinder’s replacement will look like. Sure, it will probably receive a few nips and tucks, but the production version probably won’t differ much from the concept model.

From the front it is instantly recognisable as a Pathfinder, sporting a similar grille and light clusters to that of the current model. However, from the side and rear, it is clear that the Pathy has undergone quite a metamorphosis. In appearance, at least, this is a far softer and road-biased vehicle than the Pathfinder we know. It looks more like a crossover utility vehicle, and less like a hardcore SUV you would venture intothe bundu with.

Nissan has also announced that the vehicle will lose its body-on-frame underpinnings, instead getting a unibody platform, similar to that of the Murano. Thanks to this, the Pathfinder will apparently lose more than 200kg.
