Jeep made two very important announcements in Detroit.
The first, and likely most significant piece of news is the confirmation that the Wrangler pick up will be part of the next-generation Wrangler’s model line-up. The new version of Jeep’s evergreen car is scheduled to arrive in 2017.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee Hellcat – a car we’ve been longing for since rumours about its existence started surfacing – has also been confirmed for 2017.
The Hellcat will use a 6,2-litre supercharged V8, which produces 520kW.
Not much else is known at this stage, but the Hellcat Jeep is rumoured to accelerate to 100km/h in less than four seconds, which means it will likely be labeled as the fastest SUV ever when it makes its debut next year.
