With crossovers more popular than ever, Mercedes is getting ready to expand the GLC family, with a range-topping AMG GLC 63.
This video shows a prototype caught on the roads of Germany, which looks pretty production ready, although it’s still a few months away from being revealed, according to Autocar. It’s expected to go on sale in 2017.
The AMG GLC 63 will be getting an upgraded chassis, Air Body Control air suspension with adaptive damping, a re-tuned steering system and larger brakes. It will be powered by the same 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine as the C63 AMG, available in two outputs. The normal version will deliver 350kW and 650 Nm of torque and the ‘S’, 375kW and 700 Nm of torque.
