Mercedes-AMG has hinted that all of its V12 models could soon be available with AWD systems.
At the moment, the Mercedes-Benz G65 AMG is the only V12-powered all-wheel drive car in the company’s range. All other V12 AMG products only come in rear-wheel drive.
The German firm is remaining committed to its potent twin-turbocharged V12 engine despite increasingly strict emissions regulations. In fact, they want to increase the power gap between AMG’s twin-turbo V8s and its V12 by pushing up the output of the V12’s to around the 485-522kW. Currently the 6-litre V12 delivers 463kW of power, which is only 33kW more than the 430kW offered by the top of the range V8 models, like the S63 AMG.
