Renault have released an official image of the new Koleos after a the first picture leaked on the Internet yesterday.
Renault stated that the new SUV will play a key role in the firm’s “product offensive“, which includes “the introduction of 10 new vehicles across the world” in a “record-breaking year“.
Although some reports refer to the car as the ‘Maxthon’, the French manufacturer have decided to stick with the Koleos moniker.
Details of the new Koleos have not been released yet, but previous reports suggest that it will share the same platform as the Nissan X-Trail and it will share some of its four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. The Koleos will be available in both front-wheel- and all-wheel-drive.
In China it will come in two petrol variants, a 111kW 2.0-litre engine and a 138kW 2.5-litre mated with a standard six-speed manual gearbox or an optional automatic.
The official debut will be on 25 April at the Beijing Auto Show and it should go on sale in China soon. It will be introduced to Europe and other regions next year with different specs and powertrains.
