Autocar is reporting that the design of the iconic Land Rover Defender’s replacement has been signed off.
This doesn’t mean, though, that we will necessarily get to see what the Defender’s replacement will look like in the very near future. It might take some time for the vehicle to be revealed.
Land Rover’s bosses realise that unveiling a replacement for a 4×4 as iconic as the Defender will be a delicate task, and are therefore still deciding how to go about it.
It is still being decided, for instance, how much time should be allowed to pass between production on the old Defender ceasing, and the new model being introduced. The possibility of a showing a design concept is apparently also being discussed.
What has been stated, however, is that the final product looks very different from the DC100 concept that was shown a few years ago.
