New Hilux engine to be used in Prado?

Various reports in the Internet suggest that Toyota will be upgrading the Prado shortly.

It makes sense, since the all-new Hilux, with a new 2,8-litre turbocharged diesel, is around the corner.

The Prado has always been hampered by its low power output and a new diesel engine is just what it needs.

In the Hilux this 2,8-litre four-cylinder diesel produces 119kW and 400Nm of torque, which isn’t much of an improvement, but here’s to hoping that Toyota will increase those figures slightly for the Prado.
