Volkswagen has chosen the Geneva Motor Show as the platform to debut the all-new Touran.
In terms of style it’s pretty much what you’d expect, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. The Touran has always been the MPV for people who demand a decent helping of space and the new model doesn’t dissapoint.
It’s 130mm longer than the model it replaces, which means the cargo space has increased to 1040 litres. With the seats folded flat this car can house an impressive 1980 litres.
The interior will be more luxurious than ever before, with the inclusion of a number of modern infotainment and comfort features. Despite all the added goodies, this Touran weighs 62kg less than the model it replaces.
A wide range of both petrol and diesel powertrain will be available, with power outputs ranging from 80kW to 140kW.
Touran sales are set to kick off in Europe in the second half of 2015, but a launch date for SA hasn’t been set yet.
