If a new Evo is built – and it seems like a pretty big “if” at the moment – it might turn out to be a crossover.
According to Mitsubishi President Osamu Masuko, a next-generation Evo isn’t a big priority for the company, since the previous model wasn’t exactly a volume seller. But if a new model is built, it might end up being a crossover.
Speaking to CarAdvice, Masuko said: “Gradually the definition of an SUV is changing. So I might anticipate that the borderline between Evolution and SUV might become more overarching.”
With vehicles such as the Merc GLA45, Audi RSQ3 and Evoque proving very popular, an Evo crossover might just make sense. Obviously, nothing is set in stone at the moment, so we’ll have to wait and see what happens.
