A new Nissan SUV based on the Navara is likely to debut at the 2018 Beijing Motor Show, in April.
Speaking to Australian media outlet Drive at the 2017 Tokyo motor show, Ashwani Gupta, senior vice-president of the Renault-Nissan Alliance’s light-commercial vehicle business unit, hinted that the Navara-based SUV will appear at the 2018 Beijing motor show.
When Gupta was asked about whether Nissan would be adding a seven-seat SUV variant of the Navara, he answered: “What I can assure you is Nissan is concentrating and Nissan is extremely competent on frame-based vehicles, frame-based trucks and frame-based SUVs and we are going to cover each and every segment of frame. Now when? I think you’ll have to wait a little bit longer, please wait a little bit longer to Beijing motor show.”
Burlappcar has released this spy shot of the Nissan SUV, from the production floor which looks rather like the Toyota Fortuner. The vehicle will be set to rival the Ford Everest, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and the Toyota Fortuner.
