Range Rovers and Porsche SUVs have become regulars at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, but as the SUV segment continues to grow, specifically within the sports car brand arena so does the range of sports utility vehicles at Goodwood.
At this year’s festival the Alfa Romeo Stelvio, Maserati Levante, Bentley Bentayga, Range Rover Velar, Porsche Cayenne and Mercedes-Benz G-Class were among the larney sport-utes and crossovers on display.
This doesn’t appear to be a passing fad either, as the market is continuing to grow. Rolls-Royce is testing the Cullinan SUV, with the anticipated release being 2018 and soon Lamborghini, Aston Martin and even Lotus will be introducing pricey, powerful crossovers of their own. BMW also has a new top-of-the-line X7 in the works, and according to Carscoops, ‘Mercedes may finally launch a Maybach sport-ute before long as well.’
