The Peugeot 2008 hasn’t been on sale globally for very long, but the company has announced that it has already built its 100 000th 2008.
The 2008, which will go on sale in SA very soon, has proven very popular in those parts of the world where it has already been released. In fact, less than a year after production on the little crossover started, the 100 000th 2008 has already rolled off the assembly line. At the moment, the Mulhouse plant, where all Peugeot 2008s are built, currently pushes out 680 vehicles a day – twice as much as it was making when production on the 2008 started.
This, quite obviously, is very good news for Peugeot. It will be interesting to see if it sells as well in SA, once it arrives. Local launch of the 2008 is apparently imminent, so we’ll hopefully get to drive it very soon…
