Peugeot will be offering an all-new hybrid powertrain in a few of its vehicles, most notably the fantastic 3008 SUV.
The 3008 Hybrid4 is equipped with four-wheel drive with a multi-link rear suspension. It has a Puretech turbocharged petrol engine at the front and two electric motors – one at the front and one at the rear. The combined power output is around 220kW, which enables the 3008 to accelerate to 100m/h in 6.5 seconds.
The PureTech engine is combined with the new e-EAT8 8-speed automatic transmission (Electric Efficient Automatic Transmission – 8 speeds), specific to Plug-in Hybrid engines.
Peugeot’s new hybrid models will go on sale in Europe shortly, but we’ve yet to receive word on whether they’ll be offered locally.
