It is no secret that Land Rover fully intends to produce the most luxurious and desirable SUVs in the world with its Range Rover models. Well, now they plan on taking things one step further.
As you probably already know, Land Rover now offers a bigger version of its biggest and plushest SUV – the cumbersomely named Range Rover L Autobiography Black(pictured above), which has a longer wheelbase than the standard version, and sports just about every comfort feature you can imagine.
Things won’t end there, however. According to Land Rover designer Gerry McGovern, the company intends to offer comprehensive customisation options to its wealthiest clients. It will reportedly be done by the Individual Products Division of Land Rover, and will allow buyers to customise just about every aspect of their Range Rovers.
If you’re a fan of sportscars, you probably also know that one of the godfathers of the popular evo performance mag, Harry Metcalfe, has left the publication to head Land Rover’s ETO (Engineered to Order) division, so it seems as if the company is readying to increase its engineering and customisation options significantly.
If Metcalfe has anything to do with it, ETO will apparently mean the same thing for Land Rover as M means for BMW and AMG for Mercedes-Benz. The future of Land Rover is going to be interesting…
