Last week’s Red Bull stunt saw teen Formula 1 sensation Max Verstappen take a Red Bull F1 car fitted with snow chains for a spin up an Austrian ski slope, (watch it here).
Verstappen and Red Bull were promoting this year’s Austrian Grand Prix, but apparently Red Bull did not get permission from the relevant authorities. According to local Austrian news outlet Tiroler Tageszeitung, “administrative proceedings have been filed against Red Bull” and the company could face a fine of up to $32 000 (around R530 000).
Michael Berger, Kitzbuhel ski slopes director, confirmed the news, , told Tiroler Tageszeitung that approval must be given for the driving of any vehicle outside normal traffic or fenced areas, due to the potential for causing damage to nature.
