Ever wanted a funky crossover with doors that open like those on a Lamborghini? Well, have we got news for you…
Renault recently revealed a new crossover concept at the Auto Expo in New Delhi, India. It’s called the Kwid and it seems to be the result of a beach buggy crashing into the back of a Lamborghini Aventador.
Obviously, it’ll never make it into production, but it shows that Renault is thinking of launching a competitor into this fast growing segment.
The Kwid is powered by a 1,2-litre turbocharged petrol engine mated to a dual-clutch gearbox. It is, however, front-wheel drive, which means it won’t be hitting the beach anytime soon.
What we do love is something Renault is calling the “flying companion.” It’s a miniature flying device attached to the roof. The flying companion is fitted with a camera, which gives the driver a bird’s eye view of whatever the driver chooses to fly over.
Renault says that it’s quite helpful if you want to take pictures of the landscape, or if you want to scope out any dangers that may lie ahead. We can’t help but think how entertaining such a think would be in rush hour traffic. It might not save you from getting stuck, but at least it gives you something interesting to do in the meantime.
