Seat has turned to a Spanish artist Sergi Ramirez, who specializes in sand sculptures, to create a full-sized sculpture of the Ateca.
The 26 ton sand replica is on display at Terminal 1 of Barcelona’s El Prat airport, where roughly 100 000 passengers get to see it on display, next to a real-life Seat Ateca.
“The aim of this installation is to showcase Barcelona-based art and design with an ephemeral sculpture. Barcelona has one of Europe’s 10 busiest airports and is the ideal location to display the Ateca and, at the same time, highlight the brand’s link with the city of Barcelona”, said Susanne Franz, the brand’s global Marketing Director.
