The SSangyong Musso moniker is back, this time in the guise of a double-cab bakkie that replaces the previous Korando Sport in the United Kingdom.
The new Musso is fitted with 2017 an all-new Euro 6 compliant 2.2-liter turbo-diesel engine, which delivers 130kW and 400 Nm via a six-speed manual or optional automatic transmission.
The bakkie comes with a revised front grille an updated dashboard and a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels. It is fitted with a multi-link rear suspension and progressive rear coil springs and boasts a one-ton payload and three-ton towing capacity.
“Our commercial vehicles represent an intrinsic part of the SsangYong range and we decided to reintroduce the Musso name to differentiate this superb utility truck from our passenger cars. Musso — which means rhinoceros in Korean — is a tough, robust proposition for any trade, and with a specification, price and warranty no others can compete with,” said Paul Williams, CEO of Ssangyong Motor UK.
There is no word yet on whether the Musso bakkie will be heading to South Africa in future as a possible replacement for the Actyon Sport.
