The VIZIV Future concept SUV was unveiled at the recent Tokyo Motor show and compared to some of the quirky and just plain ridiculous concept cars, the VIZIV Future looks rather production-ready.
According to Subaru the VIZIV is an “SUV-type concept model embodying the future vision of car development.” In other words we are likely to see it on the road in future.
The VIZIV Future offers a glimpse at next-generation technologies to be incorporated in future models. This includes the continued evolution of Eyesight, and the power unit that merges a smaller turbo engine with a hybrid system. This combination is supposed to improve fuel efficiency in comparrison to the first system launched on the Subaru XV Hybrid. The light, compact turbo engine is a further development of the Levorg’s 1.6-liter unit.
The SUV also has a more advanced Symmetrical motor AWD, that has been altered by among other things, getting rid of the propeller shaft by mounting the single motor concentrically on the rear axle. As a result the floor is flat adding space to the interior.
