Suzuki Vitara getting a few major upgrades

Suzuki will be upgrading its Vitara and the new model will be available in South Africa in 2019.

The upgrades include a few minor modifications to the exterior, including new alloy wheels, grille, LED lights at the rear and two new body colour options.

Interior wise, Suzuki promises higher quality materials, as well as a new infotainment system. For the first time, the Vitara will also be available with traffic sign recognition, blind-spot

As for the engines, we’re not entirely sure. The international press release mentions a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol and a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol. These are set to replace the 1.6-litre naturally aspirated petrol, but we wonder this will be the case in South Africa.

The all-wheel drive system will still be available on top-spec models.

Other safety gizmos will include traffic sign recognition and a blind-spot monitoring system, which alerts the driver if another vehicle is detected in the blind spots over the driver’s shoulders.
