Certainly not a rugged off-roader this sporty Mercedes-AMG A 45 4MATIC is described by Mercedes as being, “Agile and safe on country roads, ultra-dynamic on the racetrack”.
After extensive updating of the Mercedes-AMG A 45 4MATIC, the turbocharged AMG 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine now offers a peak output of 280 kW and maximum torque of 475 Nm. It can reach 100km/h in 4.2 seconds and the manufacturere claims that fuel consumption is 6.9 litres per 100km.
The entry by Mercedes-AMG into the compact class, and therefore a completely new market segment, in 2013 was a brave move and Mercedes say a worthwhile one.
We’re sure that Mercedes hopes to appeal to those who want sporty car-like driving with hatchback convenience and a touch of SUV versatility. All we can say about the ground clearance is ….eish.
