Super Bowl isn’t exactly a big deal in South Africa; in fact, it isn’t any kind of deal at all, since we couldn’t care less about football. Here in the sunny SA, we play a much tougher sport, called Rugby.
We can, however, appreciate the effort motoring manufacturers put into their Super Bowl advertising.
These are no mere ad spots, as you can see below. These are full-blown cinema productions and they’re almost as highly anticipated as the football matches.
The cost of a 30 second slot for 2014 is around R45 million, but in return you get access to one of the biggest television audiences in modern history. That’s why these ads need to be as funny and captivating as possible.
Hyundai, Chrysler, Kia and Toyota will all be advertising their latest SUVs come Monday night.
