Toyota reveals new advanced safety system

by Leisure Wheels

31 March 2015

Toyota has revealed that the both the 2016 Rav4 Hybrid and 2016 Lexus RX will be equipped with the Japanese company’s new Toyota Safety Sense system.

The system basically uses camera and laser radar to detect an imminent collision. It then gives the driver an audible warning and if he/she fails to react, the car will automatically apply its brakes.

The package also includes lane departure warning and automatic high beam system.

The cost of this impressive technology has been kept as low as possible, with the system costing around R3 700 in a Toyota and R6 000 in a Lexus.
