Toyota has updated its Land Cruiser 200, giving it some extra power and adding to the standard specification list.
The Land Cruiser 200 retains the 4.5 litre, V8 turbodiesel engine, but Toyota has increased its output by 22 kilowatts to 195, delivered at 3400rpm. The torque has also been upped by 35 newton meters to 650Nm, available between 1600 and 2600rpm.
The engine is mated to a six-speed auto transmission, which delivers power to all four wheels, via a low-range equipped transfer case.
As before the LC200 comes in two trim levels, “the utility focused ‘GX’ and sumptuous ‘VX’ – now renamed to VX-R”.
The GX models now come with a coolbox in the centre console, roof rails, a rear tonneau and rear park distance control. The VX-R trim level gains auto-folding power exterior mirrors, an integrated tow hitch and roof rails.
